Did you manage to get it working? We' re facing the same problem here.
Is @Gabriel_Watson's "solution" the only one that works?
Thanks in advance!
No, Gabriel_Watson's solution is not suitable. This problem is related to the copyright license of the software. So you need to check if the Autodesk desktop licensing service is working properly.
Thanks for the info.
It's kinda weird, but the mentioned service is working (up and running), I'm based on these instructions from Adsk:
I had the same problem. It turned out to be a missing file in the user profile.
"c:\Users\%userprofile%\AppData\Roaming\Autodesk\Inventor 2024\RealDWGSettings.xml" needs to exist and at least contain the installation location of realdwg.
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-16" standalone="no" ?>
<RealDWGSettings InstallDirectory="C:\Program Files\Common Files\Autodesk Shared\RealDWG Shared 2024"></RealDWGSettings>
Why this POS doesn't just use the standard value in case it's missing, or ask the registry... But noooo, of course not.
You bloody legend, this fixed the problem.
open notepad, paste the doobly doo, save as the missing .xml and paste it in the place. BOOM working software.
Having issues with my setup..
To clarify, do you just need an empty xml file with the said specific name or actually realDWG installed on the system?
thanks
please disregard the post, fixed it. I could have not imagined the days have finally come for us fellow users patching defected products..
A customer of us had the same problem, but in this case the whole directory was empty!
A copy of the files + folders from a working workstation solved the problem.
